CCPS Graduation Requirements

Graduating with a CCPS High School Diploma

If a student fulfills the graduation requirements set out by the school, she or he will be awarded a CCPS High School Diploma.  This is the equivalent to other high school diplomas awarded around the state of New Mexico at secondary education institutions, with some Cottonwood Classical-specific additional requirements.  The conditions for the award of the CCPS High School Diploma are determined by the school and are not contingent upon the entry of, completion of, or success on International Baccalaureate Organization external examinations.  In other words, regardless of pathway through the IB Diploma Program at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School, all students are eligible to receive their CCPS High School Diploma.

The award of the CCPS High School Diploma is contingent upon these expectations (see example transcript below):
  1. Achieving a total of 27 credits or more (CCPS requirement only; state requires at least 24 credits).
  2. Successfully attaining all credits required in each of the subject areas defined by the state of New Mexico.
  3. Receiving a "Passing" grade in the IB Core at the end of the spring semester in a student's senior year (CCPS requirement only).
